Upon assuming responsibility for ordering toner and ink for our printers, I found that our inventory contained an overabundance of ink and toners, even including ink and toner for printers we no longer had! We were ordering way too much back-up supply, resulting in too much inventory that also had a limited shelf life. Joe Sklar at United Imaging worked with us to develop a weekly ordering system. Whereby, the actual printer users, place orders for their needs, through our office manager. Users are responsible for maintaining one spare set of toner and/or ink for their printer at all times. When the spare is loaded into the printer, they can then order spare backup ink. Our office manager places the order with United Imaging once a week, and United delivers the ink the next day, so we never run out and are ordering only what we actually need.
